speaking ill of the dead

Many of the posts refer to individuals who passed over many, many years ago, for example, Homer St. Francis. Obviously, Chief St. Francis cannot defend himself. It shows little respect or courage to attack the dead.

and no empathy for the living descendents.

Regarding The First 50 Posts

The Abenaki people have survived over 500 years of occupation.

We have survived diseases to which we had no resistance.

We survived war, slavery, the Jesuits and racism.

We will certainly survive any words said against our People.

Our ancestors made us strong.

Influences from the technological world, which has no part of the natural world, have contributed to illness in some of our People. Words which would never be said face to face, are too easily typed out on a keyboard whenever dark moods strike. There is a loss of self control, self respect, and respect for others.

Those who are weak and suffering from a loss of their inherent spirituality, are preyed upon by others suffering from their own sicknesses and are used in selfish ways. Illnesses are shared and fed. Hatred of self is presented as hatred of others. How can one love themselves, when they so hate and insult their brothers/sisters/aunts/uncles and cousins?

We can only pity one who cannot see the truth of their own core spirit, yet professes to know truth in others.
